Important information to consider before you make a submission to a Planning Scheme Amendment

  • Make sure you clearly understand what is proposed by the amendment.
  • A submission must include a description of how the amendment affects you and the reasons why you support, object, or have any recommended changes to the amendment.
  • A submission that requests a change to the terms of any State standard provisions cannot be considered by Council.
  • If the planning authority does not agree to change the amendment as requested in a submission, the Minister for Planning may appoint an independent Panel to consider the matter and the submitter will be given an opportunity to be heard by the Panel.  The contact email and phone number information provided in a submission will be used by Planning Panels Victoria to contact the submitter about the Hearing and prepare the Hearing Timetable.  The email address provided in a submission may be provided to other parties to the Hearing to allow for the circulation of information or Expert Witness Reports.
